The US president’s son, Donald Trump Jr. fires a scalding comment to the co-host of “The View” during an interview last Thursday, after she hit him back with harsh comments.
“Joy, you’ve worn blackface.” he says in retaliation, reminding her that she herself was not as perfect as she looks. “We’ve all done things that we regret,” Trump Jr. insists in the interview.
“I mean, if we’re talking about bringing the discourse down. Joy, you’ve worn blackface.” he adds.
Behar is aghast, and responds: “No I haven’t! I did not go in blackface, please!”
Albeit Joy’s hesitations, it has been revealed that Behar did dress up as a “beautiful African woman” last 2016, according to the report from entertainment journalist Jon Levine.
From Levine’s previous report at The Wrap, he writes:
“The View” co-host Joy Behar attended a Halloween party dressed as a “beautiful African woman” during the 1970s, which included darkening her face with makeup, the host said in a 2016 episode of the daytime talk show.
Behar’s statement was also as follows: “That is me. I was 29. It was a Halloween party, I went as a beautiful African woman. That’s my hair. I had makeup that was a little bit darker than my skin, but that’s my actual hair, though.”
African-American Co-host Raven-Symoné responded: “You mean blackface.” and also adds insult to the injury: “Joy, are you my auntie, Joy? She looks black.”
Behar’s costume had also been exposed at sources from “The View”, with the shared photographs, even reported on a segment where her look was called “blackface-lite” last 2016.
Trump Jr continues his burning tweet after showing the previous video of Behar and writing: “Here’s @TheView’s Joy Behar admitting on national TV that she in fact wore blackface. Why are they denying it now?”
It can be noted that Behar has strong opposition of free speech, and claims the President and his son should be charged with the same claim.
